Victor Harbor is an excellent base for visiting the attractions of the Fleurieu Peninsula, including the River Murray mouth at Goolwa, the wineries at McLaren Vale and Kangaroo Island. The historic Cockle Train, which is popular with all ages, offers magnificent coastal views as it steams from Victor Harbor to Goolwa. Fairy Penguins are a delightful sight on Granite Island, just a short scenic walk or Horse Drawn Tram ride across the Causeway. The are the smallest penguins in the world and are only found in Australia and New Zealand.
